Default An elementalist question

ok so we all know theres fire, water, air, and earth, right? well what i dont seem to understand is that you can do water spells with a fire wand, earth spells with an air wand, etc. So my questionis, if I am using a fire like flare or rain of fire with an air wand, is it still as powerful as it would be with a fire wand? Is it still considered fire damage? hmmmm its been bothering me for sme time now, if you have an answer that would be great!

Yes, if you're using air spells with a fire wand the spells are still air. You will want to use a fire wand though if you're putting your points in fire though. Otherwise you will not get the full damage bonus of the wand.

Hope that helps.

Later on you also get skills that depend on the type of damage your weapon deals. There is a fire enchantment that improves your damage with fire weapons by 1-13. I don't know if there's a similar enchantments for other elements though.

A fire wand does fire damage when you're just using your default attack and uses no energy (i.e. target a mob, and hit the space bar, your character will reel back and flick the wand for a small amount of ranged damage).

When you cast a spell (i.e. use a skill), then you use up energy and damage is done based on the attribute the spell uses.

They are totally separate.

The only reason to use a fire wand and use fire based spells is sheerly for roleplaying

Some wands require a certain attribute level to use (i.e. require a fire attribuate of 6) and you can even apply runes for attribute boosts (i.e. minor rune of fire applied to any wand would give your fire skill a +1 boost).

Pretty much all the good wands I've seen drop (the 11-22 damage ones) all require something like 6-10 attribute points of the element type, same with the 11-12 energy focus.
